The latest hostcount for all countries can be found in file "RIPE-hostcount"

The country codes that are used in the hostcount, can be found in file 

"ftp://ftp.ripe.net/iso3166-countrycodes"

These counts were done using a modified version of the DNS query tool "host".
It can be found on this machine in /tools/dns as host.tar.Z.
The modifications were made by Eric Wassenaar, NIKHEF-H <e07@nikhef.nl>

.gz files are compressed using "gzip".

New In November 1998

This month 48 extra TLD's were added to the count, representing all of the
countries served by the RIPE NCC.

Access to the host output files was restricted. If you wish to
view/use the raw data, please contact <hostcount@ripe.net>
giving as many details as possible of your reasons for wanting
to do this.

The error files were moved to the subdirectory 'error-files'.

03/07/2001

Access to the error files was restricted as well, under the same
conditions as valid for access to the output files.
