Print Job Management BOF (PRINTJOB)

A Print Job Management BOF was held on Tuesday.  The meeting was chaired
by Joel Gyllenskog.

The group discussed the appropriateness of using SNMP for managing print
jobs.  There was considerable discussion on existing standards for
managing print jobs and how those would interact with SNMP. After the
discussion, the decision was made not to attempt to form a PRINTJOB
Working Group at this time, but to informally continue examining the
needs and options.  The Printer MIB Working Group (PRINTMIB) has
completed its effort in producing the printer MIB and will continue to
meet.  Managing print jobs will be one of the subjects on its agenda.
Those meetings will not be sanctioned by the IETF, but interested
individuals are free to participate either in person or via the
electronic mailing list.
